Welcome Tea Tea has been drunk in China for around 5000 years where they have perfected the art of growing and processing good quality teas. Across the vastness of China the terrain and climate changes and this suits different types of teas. We offer some quality teas from various parts of China which we would encourage you to try. A warm Keemun from Anhui or an earthy Yunnan Pu-erh to name a couple. Our modest selection includes white, green, oolong,black teas,pu-erh and fragranced teas.Whilst modest in size it is great on quality.All our teas are available in 50g or 125g packs or tea tins. Our high quality Yixing teapots (pronounced ee-shing) are made from the special Zisha and Zhu Ni clays found only in the area near Lake Tai Hu in China. The pots have been made in the area by crafts people since at least the 14th century and were the first teapots to be brought to the UK. Current teapots are based on these original teapots. Yixing teapots are sought after by tea lovers, teapot collectors and by those looking for that special gift for a wedding, anniversary or birthday. Some of the pots are in a fantastic shape of an animal or plant, others are carved and have some painted decoration. Many of ,the shapes and carvings are lucky symbols, so ideal as a gift. Those in the know believe that these teapots make the best cup of tea and we provide you with instructions on how to ‘cure’ your pot and make the perfect cup of tea. The tiny pots are perfect for the Gong Fu tea ceremony and are usually used with Oolong (Wuyi ) tea. There is a selection pots from the traditional tiny Gong Fu pots to full size family ones. For those who prefer to make tea in a mug or who need help converting to loose tea leaves we have lidded tea mugs. There is also a selction of tea bowls, tea strainers, bamboo tea scoops, bamboo tea trays and other tea related items.
